KDA Has Changed.
KDA Has Changed.
KDA Has Changed. KDA Has Changed.
What’s New?
Three tracks. Three different questions.
Pick the one that matches what you actually want the jury to see.
Okay. So?
For years, the Kyoorius Design Awards have judged design almost entirely on craft — how good the work looked, how well it was executed.
That's still true, and it still matters.
But design in India has grown past what craft alone can capture. It's reshaping businesses, shifting behaviour, rebuilding organisations, solving problems at a scale that has nothing to do with how polished the layout is.
This year, we’ve introduced three tracks to acknowledge that all work shouldn't have to be squeezed into craft-driven categories, or left out entirely because it didn't photograph well.
-
How well was it made?
Nothing else matters here. Not whether it worked, not what it changed — just the work, judged on its own terms.
-
But did it work?
The work still comes first. But if it landed, if you can show adoption, performance, results — that makes the case stronger. Can't show it yet? Just check with us first, and we'll make sure it gets seen the right way.
-
What did it change?
Here the order flips entirely. The outcome comes first. The design is just the instrument that caused it. And it needs to prove that, not just claim it. This track runs on its own evidence approach, laid out below.
So don't ask "which track."
Ask: how do I want the jury to judge this work?
— The work, and nothing else → Track 1.
— The work, and proof it worked → Track 2.
— The change it caused, with work as the evidence → Track 3.
The same project can be looked at through three different lenses. Nothing stops you from entering it more than once across the three tracks or across multiple categories within each, as long as the way you present your case shifts to suit what's actually being judged.
About
#KDA26
Since 2013, the Kyoorius Design Awards have honoured and recognised excellence across Indian design, encompassing Visual Communications, Marketing, Architecture and Interiors.
Presented by ZEE, and powered by The Clio Awards, the Kyoorius Design Awards is an ethical and neutral platform designed to judge work purely on its own merit.
This translates to a non-hierarchical award structure, with no Golds, Silvers or Bronzes. The Elephant remembers the work, even when the rest of the world forgets.
Rules
#KDA26
-
Work must have been released in South Asia (India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka) between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026.
Purely speculative proposals, unexecuted work, or limited test efforts that did not reach the intended audience at scale are not eligible.
One-time pieces of work are eligible, as long as you can submit a client contact name, phone number and email address with the entry, upon request.

How well was it made?
Design Craft celebrates the art and discipline of making. It recognises outstanding creative expression, technical mastery and execution across the many forms and practices of design. The idea matters, but here execution is weighted first — how well the design has been made, how effectively the craft serves the concept, and how the chosen discipline has been pushed in the service of stronger work.

Track 2 > Design In Action
It was well made. But did it work?
Design In Action recognises design that works — celebrating products, services, systems and experiences that solve real-world challenges and demonstrate evidence of effectiveness through use, adoption or performance.
Where Track 1 asks how well something was made, Track 2 asks what it achieved. Entries are judged on the strength of the design concept, the quality of the execution and the evidence of real-world effectiveness.
Track 3 > Design Impact
What did it change?
Design Impact recognises design that creates meaningful change, or design that drives effectiveness. It celebrates consequential design work that transformed businesses, brands, organisations, behaviours, communities or systems.
Pricing
All entries to all three tracks are priced at
INR 9,000 + GST per entry
All payments must be made in Indian Rupees.

Traditionally, only 10% to 15% of all entries submitted are deemed worthy of a Baby Elephant.
All entries that win a Baby Elephant are nominated for the Blue Elephant.
Baby Elephant winners will be announced on kyoorius.com a few days before the Awards Night.
-
Scheduled for 12 Sep 2026
at Kyoorius Designyatra at Taj Cidade de Goa, Horizon.Find out if your work wins a Blue, Grey or Black Elephant at a night that celebrates South Asian creative excellence.
The Kyoorius Design Awards follow a comprehensive multiple-round judging process, where jurors base their decisions on three criteria.
All decisions pertaining to judging and winning are solely the responsibility and onus of the jury.
How does
the Jury work?
-
The idea is the foundation of a great piece of work. The judges will look at the strength of the idea in terms of its originality, in whatever shape or form it may be, as it’s subjective. But they’ll also ask questions such as “Has it generated a new perspective on an old problem? Has it added something new to the advertising industry, and the world, at large?”
-
The test of a great idea lies in its execution. Have you brought out the full potential of the idea? Does the craft raise the overall level the idea? And is it well produced for the mediums it’s meant for?
-
For any piece of work to be impactful, the context of the culture, the product, the environment and the time it’s been created in is extremely important. Is it resonating with the people it was made for? And is it fit for the purpose that it was intended?
Judging
Criteria
The jury is looking for answers to the following questions…
-
What is the idea / concept / principle used to
solve for the brief?Where did it stem from?
Is it unique?
How does it intend to solve for the brief?
-
How was the idea / concept / principle executed?
Were there any challenges or constraints during execution?
Was there any advancement in the technology / methods used to execute the idea / concept / principle?
-
What is the purpose for the project to exist?
What problem is it looking to solve?
What was the need or objective for the campaign or work?
-
What did the project achieve?
What impact did it have on the stakeholders?

ENTER EARLY
Entering early offers you financial savings and gives Team Kyoorius more time to review your entry before it reaches the jurors. During the review process, we verify that all the necessary information and assets are included, work properly, and adhere to our media specifications. In some cases, we suggest minor adjustments to improve your submission, so the more time we have, the better!SPEND TIME ON THE DESCRIPTIONS
Including a concise, yet sharp Description is strongly recommended not only by Team Kyoorius but also by our jurors, as they often use the provided copy when additional context is needed. This can include cultural background, insights on the creative process, and/or specific notes on what makes the entry unique in the discipline or category entered.PRESENT STRATEGICALLY
Take advantage of the opportunity to upload a case film and/or case board to showcase your creative campaign. This can be found within the Media portion of your entry. If you do not have the resources to create a case study video, we recommend you create a presentation overview of your project and upload it as the Case Study Video to your entry. Regardless, please keep your entry presentation concise, highlighting the creative aspect of your campaign and if possible, focusing on the medium you are submitting into rather than a one-size fits all overview.ENTRY INSPIRATION
In order to see what has won in previous years, you may look up track and discipline specific winners in our Winners Gallery.BULK UPLOADING CREDITS
Give credit where credit is due. With our new credit library, you can now bulk upload individual as well as company credits to your library. Download the credit template file, fill out all the fields, and be sure to save your file as a CSV in order to upload it to the credit library. This allows you to save time, show more love, and edit your credits across all entries as you see fit.DUPLICATING ENTRIES
You can now effortlessly replicate your entries across not only tracks, disciplines and categories, but awards too! You can do this by simply navigating to your Draft Entries, My Cart, or your Orders, and then clicking on “Duplicate Entry.” This feature enables you to conveniently choose the program, medium, and category in which you would like to submit the entry, streamlining the submission process.
-
Some of the most common entry errors and how to avoid making them:
Miscategorised Entries:
AKA choosing the wrong categories. Utilise the Submission Guide to closely review the track, discipline and category definitions. Check to see if any other categories better suit your entry. Remember that you can enter the same piece into as many categories as you’d like that the execution fits.Series VS Single:
AKA campaigns (“Series”) submitted as Single entries. Familiarize yourself with the difference between a Series and a Single entry. A “Series” needs 3 to 5 executions of work that function as a whole and are judged together as one.Video Links VS Content Videos:
AKA links to videos instead of uploading the video directly to the submission. This also includes adding links to portfolios, Dropbox and similar sites, and/or Google Drive accounts: Be sure to upload all relevant media directly to your submission via our online entry system. When reviewing the entries, jurors are presented with this media first. Please avoid using URLs to sources that house more media such as Dropbox and Google Drive, as well as portfolio websites that include other pieces of work.Incorrect URLs:
AKA avoiding error 404. Try and keep the URLs short and refrain from including any tracking codes.Entrant Identification:
AKA including entrant / agency credits, individual credits, agency logos, and/or slates in submissions, particularly within the Description and uploaded media. Make sure your agency name is removed from all elements of the submission. All submissions remain anonymous during the judging process; this means no agency mentions in or on any of the uploaded media (video, image, audio, URL or PDF) or in the Description. Links that lead to personal or company accounts on sites such as Vimeo and YouTube must remain anonymous.Wrong Media Assets:
AKA providing media assets that are not eligible for a particular medium. Be sure to reference the entry kit or individual medium information to understand what media is allowed for submission into each specific medium.One-For-All:
AKA submitting into multiple categories and not customizing each entry: If you are submitting the same work into multiple categories, we strongly recommend you tailor each submission to the specific category. Some simple ways to do this are updating your case board content images, as well as adding a sentence or two in your synopsis that speaks to the category for your submission.
